“Little Songs, Big Science: Musical STEAM for Kids” by Jeff and Paige just won a Parents Choice Award. We’re so proud to add it to our collection of award-winning music.
This newest album is so much more than an hour of songs. Over the past year and a half we’ve been designing curriculum to go with the songs (along with CU Natural History Museum Educators) and filming videos for each song / science concept with a silly Jeff and Paige feel. Each lesson/song/video focuses on a science concept and invites children to explore that concept through movement and experimentation.
Filming “Rainbow” from Little Songs, Big Science: Musical STEAM for Kids
As educators, performers, and parents we want to deliver the full package of fun, inquiry-based, experiential education to a wide audience.
AND WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We launched our crowd-funding campaign “Little Songs, Big Science For All” this winter to raise funds for 10 music videos with additional funds raised to donate this J&P STEAM curriculum to 1000 classrooms.
WITH JUST $2,575 LEFT TO RAISE WE ARE SO CLOSE TO MEETING OUR GOAL TO DONATE OUR FUN EXPERIENTIAL SCIENCE CURRICULUM TO SCHOOLS AND CLASSROOMS.
Over the winter months we filmed all 10 videos, this was quite a feat on a limited budget and with an increasingly pregnant Paige to contend with—you may notice in some of the finished product that her tummy is a different size at various parts of the video! We are so thankful to Colin Mahoney of Two Tigers Productions for working with us on this project on a really small budget for video and to Thorne Nature Experience for letting us use their space for filming! Our aim is to release these videos over the months of Paige’s maternity leave this summer, 2019, as a way to stay connected to you—our beautiful supportive audience.
If we can raise the rest of the funds for the campaign we’ll begin our donation process in the fall of 2019, reaching out to schools/classrooms to deliver a full musical STEAM curriculum complete with music, lessons, and videos for use in classrooms or at home. If 100 more people donate $25.00 each we can reach our goal. Please contribute today! You can read more about our project on the donation page.
For all your support in continuing to spread a message of joy, hope, and love for science and the natural world, thank you. By creating this campaign our aim is to help create the next generation of environmental stewards and we cannot possibly do this without you. With so much gratitude, thank you for your support. ~Jeff and Paige
