About "Get Outdoors!"
Jeff and Paige’s new CD Get Outdoors! is filled with love of nature, science and environmental ethics and is now available for purchase!
The title track, “Get Outdoors!” was written in response to the growing and well documented epidemic of children spending too much time in-doors and in front of screens, and less time outdoors. In his book, Last Child in the Woods, author Richard Louv documented the tragic results of these lifestyle changes from child-hood obesity to attention deficit disorder. Get Outdoors is a fun-filled journey that encourages listeners to get off of the couch to explore the adventures that nature offers right outside the front door. It is a complete musical story that you and your children will love!
The Get Outdoors! CD release explores bat ecology, bird song, insect anatomy, the mountain pine beetle epidemic, plate tectonics, ecological effects of decomposing dog poop, and so much more.
If this sounds lofty for the kiddie set, then think again. Each song is instructive, but never preachy. And the messages are delivered in a playful manner with memorable musical hooks that captivate children and adults alike.
