Water Is Life! From the Water Festival to Following the Flush

From silly songs to serious science, the Children’s Water Festival is one of our favorite ways to bring learning to life. This fall, we performed six shows for nearly 900 kids in Adams County.

Through hands-on learning, the festival shows how water sustains people, food, and ecosystems truly proving Water is Life – (and yes, you can listen to the song anywhere you stream — pun intended).

Our shows at the Water Festival is one of the events we fundraise for each year and made possible by our donors and Superhero Fan Club members. Help us inspire the next generation to care for water and our natural resources — support our nonprofit and keep the learning flowing.

Water is a perfect example of a circular system rising as vapor, returning as rain, and sustaining people, food, and ecosystem. This natural cycle mirrors the City of Boulder’s vision for a circular economy, where waste is nearly eliminated and every resource is reused. Download our guide the guide, complete with videos and songs that bring this concept to life.

And speaking of circular… ever wondered where water goes after you flush? 🚽💨 We headed to Boulder’s Water Resource Recovery Facility — where 25 million gallons of wastewater are treated every day — to find out, and of course, we filmed the adventure to share with you.

The facility sorts through everything that gets flushed (yes, even those so-called ‘flushable’ wipes).

Then science takes over: bacteria and protozoa team up to clean the water before it flows back into Boulder Creek and eventually the Gulf of Mexico.

Even Rigatoni Spumanti made a surprise cameo — serenading the facility with the Opera of Giardia

Here’s to curious kids, clean water, and communities that care. Thanks for helping us keep the ripple effect going,

Jeff & Paige
