The Show Made with Heart, Not Hollywood

What happens when you make a TV show without a big network calling the shots? You get Rainbow Socks—a show that’s 100% Jeff & Paige. No suits. No Hollywood rewrites. Just a team of people who saw the magic in our live shows and wanted to help share it with more families. One of them was Dia Sokol Savage, an Emmy-winning director who—like so many of you—first experienced the magic of Jeff & Paige from the grass, not behind a camera. She came to a show as a parent, not a producer. But something shifted. Not long after, she approached us—along with a crew of wonderful humans, including co-director and fellow Boulder mom Dana Romanoff—with an idea that would change everything.

As we began writing the first episodes, it became clear this show had been living inside us for a long time. But when filming started—when we saw the full crew in motion, with set design, makeup, lighting, a producer, a gaffer (and yes, I now know what a gaffer is)—that vision came to life. Shivers ran down my spine. We knew we were on to something truly special. For many of the crew, it was their first introduction to the world of Jeff & Paige— we sang Thank You Honeybee and taught them dance on our first day in the dawn light of an April morning. Watch Eric’s favorite moment from behind the scenes—one that shows just how special it all felt, even to those seeing it for the first time…

We asked the crew to share the shows that meant the most to them growing up—the ones that sparked their imaginations, shaped how they saw the world, and that Rainbow Socks reminds them of in all the best ways.

That’s the kind of impact we’re aiming for with Rainbow Socks—a show that speaks to today’s kids with the same heart and intention as the classics we grew up with, and encourages them to slow down, stay curious, and feel connected to the natural world around them. It’s been an incredible blessing to live and work on this project here in the Boulder Front Range community—and now, we’re ready to take it far beyond. We need your eyes. We need your ears. And we need your support to help us celebrate this next step and take Rainbow Socks to the next level.
