It Takes The Whole Community to Support The Community 💜 Your donation makes a difference!

“REST is the conversation between what we love to do and how we love to be. Rest is the essence of giving and receiving; an act of remembering, imaginatively and intellectually but also physiologically and physically…

…Rested, we are ready for the world but not held hostage by it, rested we care again for the right things and the right people in the right way. In rest we reestablish the goals that make us more generous, more courageous, more of an invitation, someone we want to remember, and someone others would want to remember too.”

-David Whyte

In order to fully fund the free and discounted programs we are offering this spring and summer we need to raise $25,000. Read on to learn more.

This week I walked barefoot on the earth and felt the deep connection to the ground through the soles of my feet. Spring brings open windows, days of eating outside (one less round of sweeping per day, I’ll take it!), and the opportunity to witness new growth. As the days lengthen, the sun warms the ground, and dormant seeds, that have been rooting down into the earth, will find enough energy to reach their stems up and out of the soil.

Jeff and I went dormant this winter too, but we weren’t sleeping. Like those seeds– rooting down to rise up– we used the space and restful time to plan programs for the year, record music, mend costumes, build props, and find nourishment in a slowed down pace that will allow us to show up as our most enthusiastic selves for our wider community.

Taking enough pause and rest from public performances and appearances to truly feel ready to face a wider world;— to perform for and educate thousands of children and families this spring, summer, and fall, about nature, science, interconnectivity and ecology, — is something we’ve always dreamed was possible.

It is because of our generous donors and members for our non-profit “Rainbow Socks” that we were able to realize this dream: a restful season with enough time and financial support to plan, prepare, create and show up ready for our public offerings. THANK YOU.

Sustaining memberships and donations directly support program expenses so that Jeff and Paige can offer the best of what we have available. This season...We have:

  • New curriculum connected assemblies for schools,
  • More Spanish language offerings than ever before.
  • A new album “Hey Alice” to be released this summer,
  • A new music video coming soon.
  • And we have been able to commit to 30 free or discounted free programs so far in 2023!!

The ecological model we are using to help guide our own rhythms is a constant reminder that little of this life is an alone journey. We are interconnected with and interdependent upon the soil, air, sunshine, and breath that we all share.

Our work, is nothing without an audience to receive it, nothing without our partners who support and expand our offerings, nothing without your small children’s enthusiasm, nothing without your marching feet oh ah ahing along with us across the years.

After offering programming in this community for 20 years we are so blessed to receive stories from “big children” who are at college, or work, studying marine biology, theater, writing music, bird watching, smiling at their classmates in the hallway because they used to come to Meadow Music and learned there how to greet a new friend in the audience.

These stories show us children who are growing into the conscious nature connected generation that we all set out to raise! These anecdotes prove over and over again that this work matters. That it’s worth showing up for, that it’s worth funding, and creating, that this work makes a difference in people’s lives.

And we can take only some small credit for any of it, you the parents and caregivers and educators who are raising these kids and choosing pathways for them to explore a different way of living should take much more!!

It takes the whole community to support the community. It takes the whole community to support families to create spaces and places for connection, love, and rest. For joy and music and fun. Our work is to create consistent opportunities for people to gather around meaningful content. Gatherings that allow adults and children to experience joyful, creative, musical and educational content, and be in the midst of whatever else they are walking through that day: Grief. Motherhood. Parenthood. Lost homes. Divorce. We all walk these paths.

We are a connected whole of parents and educators, mothers, fathers, children, grandparents, caregivers, building the strong roots for further explorations that expand beyond a concert…slowly creating a wave of ecologically literate, nature connected humans capable of living from a different way of being.

This is our vision. This is the force that drives Jeff and Paige to continue to be “Jeff and Paige” out there in the world.

It’s taken us years to find the deep knowing that this work matters. And that it makes a difference in the lives of many by being accessible, open to any who need it, and that it reaches far beyond a moment in time at a specific program, through music, lyrics, videos, and joy.

So thank you for being a supporter. And thank you for your kind eyes and ears, and donations and sustaining memberships.

Now, our concert calendar is filling and our paces are quickening in anticipation of performing for and educating thousands of children and families!
