After 20 Years on Stage, Beloved Colorado Performers Bring Nature-Based Kids’ TV Series Rainbow Socks to the Screen

Community invited to celebrate premiere and support next episodes at August 24 Chautauqua event

After performing live for thousands of children and families across Colorado’s Front Range for more than two decades, award-winning educators and performers Jeff and Paige are taking their show to the big screen. Their new PBS-bound series Rainbow Socks will debut its first episode with a celebratory screening and family-friendly fundraiser on Saturday, August 24 at the Colorado Chautauqua Auditorium.

Filmed in Boulder and starring local children, Rainbow Socks is a live-action musical series that invites kids to sing, dance, play, and explore the natural world around them. At a time when much of children’s programming has moved toward fast-paced animation and short-form content, Rainbow Socks is a heart-led alternative. It blends science, music, and storytelling with a core message to get outside and connect. The series flips the script on traditional TV by ending each episode with a call to action to log off and go outside: “Now turn of this show, there’s so much to explore.”

This special event will feature the premiere of an episode, a live performance by Jeff and Paige, interactive activities, and behind-the-scenes stories from the creators and Emmy Award–winning Executive Producer Dia Sokol Savage.

Event Schedule:
10:00 AM – Doors open
10:30 AM – Event Starts
12:30 PM – Event Concludes

A central highlight of the day is the interactive “Knock Your Socks Off ” fundraising activity, featuring donation tiers and playful audience participation. Families can expect laughter, music, family fun, and meaningful community connection. All funds raised during the event will support the production of more Rainbow Socks episodes.

Jeff and Paige will also introduce their newest cast member, Shaun Derik, a dynamic performer and youth motivator whose work in education, performance, and mentorship brings fresh energy and powerful representation to the Rainbow Socks Rangers team.

“We created Rainbow Socks to empower kids to explore nature, science, and storytelling,” said co-creator Paige. “Now we’re asking the community that helped inspire the show to help us finish what we started.”

Tickets are now available and can be found on the Colorado Chautauqua Auditorium ticketing website. Additional donations can be made at the event via QR-code by check, or online.
