Boulder’s Popular Music and Nature Education Program for Children Kicks Off Monday June 2nd on the Chautauqua Green
(May 29, 2014, Boulder, CO) – Jeff & Paige (http://jeffandpaige.org) the Boulder-based musical duo who bring science and nature to life through original, kid-delighting songs and stories, are proud to be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the award-winning Meadow Music program – free, interactive summer evenings of children’s music, nature education and kid-friendly hikes – sponsored by Boulder’s Open Space & Mountain Parks.
Kicking off Monday June 2, 2014, children and parents can join Jeff Kagan, Paige Doughty and their friend, Mark Wesson - an original co-creator of Meadow Music - for evenings of children’s music and nature education. A favorite among local residents for a decade, the evening consists of a short, kid-friendly hike on the McClintock Trail, followed by 45 minutes of nature music for kids on the Chautauqua Green. Meadow Music is free and open to the public. It is best for kids ages 2-8 and runs from 5:30pm - 7pm, rain or shine.
“We believe in taking a light-hearted approach to teaching kids, teenagers, and even adults about environmental issues,” says Paige Doughty, co-founder of Jeff & Paige. “Meadow Music gives us the chance to be silly, to be outdoors, to educate through song and skits and most importantly, to build community.”
Jeff Kagan, co-founder of Jeff & Paige continues, “Seeing these families week after week is the best part of our summer season. Most parents bring a blanket and picnic dinner- it’s a very relaxing and fun evening for everyone.”
With their diverse experience as classroom and outdoor educators combined with engaging storytelling, interactive play, and fun-filled concerts & CDs, Jeff & Paige offer highly educational content that both parents and kids love. More information about Jeff & Paige, including a complete line-up of events and programs, can be found on their website http://jeffandpaige.org.
